Dr Yvonne Wong specialises in perioperative care of major surgeries for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), Geriatric anaesthesia and Onco-anaesthesia.
During her time at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Dr Wong was the anaesthesia lead for the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program and Geriatric Surgical Services (GSS).
She collaborated with surgeons across disciplines such as nursing and allied health to implement workflows and design pathways for ERAS for Bariatric Surgery.
In recent years, she has been invited to speak at both international and local perioperative conferences for topics related to anesthetic perioperative management of elderly surgical and emergency laparotomy surgical patients.
In clinical research, she has been awarded the National Health Innovation Grant 2015 and holds a research patent for a novel monitoring device invention to improve patient safety. Dr Wong keeps herself up-to-date in evidence-based medicine and constantly seeking ways of utilizing medical technology to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
