What conditions does FeM Surgery treat?
FeM Surgery is a group of specialist surgeons in Singapore. Our consultants cover breast surgery, thyroid and endocrine surgery, and general surgery, along with subspecialty centres including colorectal, hernia, gallstone and liver, urology, brain and neurosurgery, spine, orthopaedic, vascular and interventional radiology, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, and cancer screening and endoscopy. If you are unsure which centre suits your condition, our clinic staff can help direct your enquiry.
How much will my surgery cost?
Before you commit to any procedure, our team will provide an itemised cost estimate covering surgeon and anaesthetist fees, hospital or facility charges, and implants or investigations where applicable. Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your total surgery cost, MediSave claimability, insurance coverage, deductibles, co-insurance, and any non-covered expenses. Some procedures may also be performed as day surgery, which can help avoid overnight ward charges where clinically appropriate.
Many eligible procedures can be claimed through MediSave, and if you hold a MediShield Life or Integrated Shield Plan, our team can assist with pre-authorisation where applicable. Our team will help you understand your costs clearly before your procedure is scheduled.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
A referral letter from a general practitioner or polyclinic is helpful and may be required by some insurers, but you can also request a consultation directly. If you have recent scans or test results, please bring them to your appointment.
Where are your clinics located?
We hold consultations at six locations in Singapore: Mount Elizabeth Novena, Mount Elizabeth Orchard, Gleneagles, Mount Alvernia, Farrer Park and Clarke Quay Central. Full addresses and phone numbers are on our locations page.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
Our clinics are on several insurance panels for Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and foreigners. Please speak with our clinic staff about using your specific plan.
What is the difference between open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery?
Open surgery uses a single larger incision. Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery uses several small incisions and a camera. Robotic surgery is a form of keyhole surgery performed with robotic instruments. The approach that suits you depends on your condition and is decided with your surgeon.
Will my procedure be done as day surgery?
Many procedures can be carried out as day surgery, which means you return home on the same day. Whether this is suitable depends on the procedure and your individual circumstances, which your surgeon will discuss with you.
Are your surgeons fully registered specialists?
Yes. Our surgeons in Singapore are fully registered specialists with the Singapore Medical Council. Each doctor’s qualifications and training are listed on their profile page.
Can I use MediSave for my treatment?
MediSave may be used for certain procedures, subject to the prevailing rules. Our clinic staff can explain what applies to your planned treatment.
Do you offer diagnostic services and health screening?
Yes. Depending on your condition, a consultation may include diagnostic services such as imaging, endoscopy and laboratory tests. We also provide health screening, including cancer screening through our screening and endoscopy centre. Your doctor will advise which tests, if any, are appropriate for you.
What post-operative care do you provide?
The team that performs your procedure also provides your post-operative care, recovery support and follow-up. Your care plan is personalised to your condition, and your surgeon will explain what to expect during recovery and when to attend follow-up appointments.
Are your facilities licensed?
Yes. Consultations and procedures take place in MOH-licensed hospital and day surgery facilities at our six locations in Singapore. Working within licensed day surgery centres supports patient safety and consistent standards of care.
